Fun in the pool once again!

It's almost a year since Le Xin last went into our big water pool for a fantastic play at the service yard....the first water play in the pool was significant to me as it marked the first post I did for this blog. Here I am once again blogging about her water play experience in the pool. This time she is no longer a little baby sitting and crawling inside...she can now walk, run and even float in the water.... how cool isn't it? I am happy to be involved in her play once again and I guess Daddy Scott feels the same way too!

Daddy Scott spraying the water into the pool for Le Xin to play

Holding a spoon, Le Xin was deciding what to scoop

Then she invited Mummy to join in her play...

I bet somehow she must have regretted it... haha because Mummy "sabo" her :p

Le Xin was showing Mummy how she could scoop the water using the cup

Let's kick the water together......

Le Xin was discussing with Mummy how to fill up the pail with water

Le Xin was showing Daddy Scott how to put the ball into the cup...it certainly looked like an ice-cream to me!

Le Xin appeared to have lots of fun in the pool....

Even scooping the water with a spade seemed to be fun to her...

To me waterplay is definitely more than just a sensorial experience...apart from having fun, I truly feel that waterplay also helps a child in terms of cognitive and social growth when they play together with others. When Le Xin engaged in this learning experience, she is beginning to learn simple Math concept such as empty or full, shallow or deep, light or heavy as she explored the properties of water. She is also improving her physical dexterity and eye-hand coordination when she was pouring the water. The next round, perhaps we should have a bubble party wouldn't that be fun so who wants to join us? haha ending this post with a cute photo of her...

Exploring the watering can...
