Printing with Playdough cutter....

It seems like I have been doing a variety of printing activities these day with Le Xin.

This time, it's printing using play dough cutters, let's check out our learning experience...

The cutters were taken from the play dough set we bought for her earlier on. You can also read more about Le Xin's first play dough experience here. As for the paint, we used acrylic paint from Daiso, it's cheap but I won't say the quality is fantastic :o

Squeezing out a little pink paint by herself...

Rubbing the cutter on the paint....

Print....print....print.....

Next, change another cutter and a different colour too!

Le Xin appears to enjoy rubbing the cutter onto the paint....

After a few attempts of printing with different animals play dough cutters, here's what Le Xin has done! :)

Le Xin gladly volunteered herself once again to do the washing... Mummy I want to wash the plates and the cutters by myself said Le Xin

Give them a good scrub Le Xin said MummyT2X.....haha I sounded like the evil stepmum while Le Xin is Cinderella :p

I think it's always good to get children engaged in such printing activities with minimal guidance and help....Be an observer first then describe the various techniques that they are using to support their language development. Ask critical thinking questions to stimulate their thoughts.

After the activity, it's also good to have them wash their own learning materials. In this way, they not only learn to be responsible, they also get into the routine of helping out!

Le Xin loves to help out in the washing of her own art materials, she always feels like a "big girl" when she does that.  At times, she even requested me to clap hands for the good effort that she has put in....Hope she is not expecting this in return :p keep fingers cross :p whahaha
