Swimming @ Tampines Swimming Complex

Do you know the importance of a father's involvement in a child's life? In many blog entries which I have posted, you can tell how I have intentionally created opportunities for my hubby to be involved in Le Xin's routine, play and outdoor exploration. All fathers should inspire to be a positive influence in their child/children's life and I believe my life would have been very different if I wasn't raised by my Dad who has the strongest influence in what I am currently doing.

So get your husband involved...
Be it feeding your child, bringing your child for a walk, bathing him/her or even just reading a simple bedtime story, you should encourage your hubby to spend more time with your child, hence giving yourself a little break at the same time fostering the bond between the two of them. I am glad most of the time my dear hubby is willing to be involved, even though he complains a little at times, his love for Le Xin will still somehow makes him DO IT!

So one fine day, Daddy Scott decided to take leave just to spend it with Le Xin and he decided to bring her to Tampines Swimming Complex for a swim. If you have read this,  this and this, I supposed you already knew how much Le Xin loves water haha so she was  really excited about the outing. In fact, we usually have to take some  time to wake her up in the morning but on that day, the minute she heard me saying Alright Le Xin wake up, we are going to the swimming pool......she literally jumped out from her bed!

Getting ready to enter the swimming complex

Le Xin must be thinking....Why did you make me push this when I can just go underneath it? hahaha

Le Xin was really scared initially, she couldn't balance herself well with the float.

She decided to just place her face on the float instead...

Daddy Scott continued to encourage her by guiding her on where to place her arms and how to kick the water with her legs....

Soon, she gained the confidence to swim on her own with her float....Well done!

Le Xin was trying to swim gracefully and Daddy Scott finds that she looks so funny and cute!

Le Xin lifted her two chubby legs....

Next, she tried to remove her float

It appeared that she was enjoying herself  as she jumped in the water without the float...

Daddy Scott went over and offered her some support....

 Bonding time.....

Daddy Scott taught Le Xin how to float too!

Daddy Scott was having a headache.... How should I convince her to use her float again?...

Le Xin swam over....

picked up her float...

and wanted to explore the deeper part of the pool without her float and luckily Daddy Scott
stopped her in time!

Daddy Scott placed the float over head and said You have to use this okay?

Le Xin started to show an angry face so Daddy Scott had to look at her sternly and remind her
of the safety rules in the pool....

Soon the both of them were swimming happily again....

Then they went to the deeper part of the pool and started swimming...

Even though it became quite hot, Daddy Scott was still willing to soak himself in the pool with Le Xin while MummyT2X hid at a corner to snap snap snap......haha I am very scared of the sun :p

I took a classic photo of Daddy Scott and Le Xin's back just like the one he helped me to take in this post.

Wow they are going to do something fun....

Practise kicking......

But look what Le Xin tried to do the whole time whahahahha she is super funny!

Time to go home, Le Xin was really exhausted by then....

We had lunch out in Delifrance @ Tampines Mall and after that........

Le Xin sat on her favourite Barney and Friends KOR KOR BEI (That's what we like to call this kind of machine)

I didn't think "Family Bonding" is sooooooo important until I had my own family....Since both Daddy Scott and I are working, we hardly have the time to bond together as a family. When we are back from work, most of the time we are very tired. Yes, even though I spend my time with Le Xin doing different sorts of activities on a daily basis, the big idea of having the 3 of us doing something together as a family would require what I call EFFORT! And I am very grateful that Daddy Scott takes the effort to bring us to the pool and I somehow I really touched by his action.

Family members and friends who are close with me would know that my hubby enjoys fishing. He used to fish a lot with his friends to an extent that I got really mad at him! Even after I gave birth he still continued fishing with his friends. However, in recent years, he seldom goes fishing anymore. He has decided to spend more time at home with Le Xin and me. Though most of the time, I am the one involved in Le Xin's routines, as a father, he also did his part by playing with her, showering her and feeding her when I am busy and I know I have to be grateful for his help!

I think most importantly we always have to focus on what our spouses have been doing for us, not what they are not doing for us. The more we feel that the other party isn't doing enough, the more frustrated we will become. I have learnt to come to terms with that and so I lead a happier life these days. Lesser Expections and More Surprises! hahaha

Anyway my relationship with Daddy Scott is a funny one, though we often quarrel a lot but we will always be friends again in a day or two because of LE XIN our bao bei and you need to know why because she is too cute....so we have to patch up  to bond again....whahahahha :) Just kidding :p but seriously which couple do not quarrel at home at all? Unless one party is always the one accommodating but that's not very healthy too isn't it? Okay leaving you guys with a short clip of Le Xin!
